US Commerce Department finalizes steep duties on solar imports from India, Indonesia, Laos

The U.S. Commerce Department has finalized steep anti-dumping and countervailing duties on solar cells and panels imported from India, Indonesia, and Laos. These duties, ranging from 65.43% to 123.04% for anti-dumping and 73.2% to 173.7% for countervailing duties, were imposed after finding that producers in these countries dumped cheap products and benefited from unfair government subsidies. The move aims to enforce trade laws and restore fair competition for U.S. solar manufacturers, with a final determination by the U.S. International Trade Commission expected on October 14.
